Black Ops 7 Beta Struggles on Steam – Player Count Nearly 5x Lower Than Battlefield 6 Beta

This Isn't Looking Like A Good Year For Call of Duty!

Story Highlight
  • Black Ops 7 beta player count has managed to top at just 100K players on Steam.
  • This is significantly less than Battlefield 6, which had over 500K beta players.
  • This is worrying for Activision, and they should work to improve the franchise.

After years of domination, it seems that Call of Duty won’t be the biggest multiplayer FPS release this year; instead, the spot will be occupied by Battlefield 6. Following disappointing day 1 numbers, the Black Ops 7 beta continues to struggle

On Steam, the Black Ops 7 beta could only record a maximum player count of around 100K players, which is a substantially low number compared to the Battlefield 6 beta, which topped at over 500K concurrent players.

Why it matters: Fans are frustrated with the franchise as it doesn’t do anything new anymore. Every year’s release is just incremental changes that don’t warrant spending so much money.

Black Ops 7 beta managed to peak at just around 100k players

According to SteamDB, Black Ops 7 beta managed to hit 99,514 players, while the Battlefield 6 beta had 5x the player base. This shows how badly Call of Duty has fallen and how Battlefield has risen from the ashes.

With both titles nearing release, Activision would be worried because of the numbers. Fans are now tired of getting the same thing every year, and the developers are playing it safe; therefore, most aren’t returning to the franchise.

In its place, many former Call of Duty players have now switched over to Battlefield 6. It is also among the most wishlisted games on Steam and is expected to have a huge opening with its full launch on October 10.
