Ghost of Yotei Trailer Bombarded with Dislikes Amid Ongoing Controversy

Dislikes Outnumber Likes Two to One!

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation recently released a new Ghost of Yotei trailer.
  • The trailer has received a significantly higher number of dislikes compared to likes, indicating that the fanbase is not particularly pleased.
  • The game has previously been the subject of several controversies, and it has now become involved in yet another political dispute.

While Ghost of Yotei was a major reveal due to its connection to the legacy of Ghost of Tsushima, it has been receiving a lot of backlash from gamers. Even fans of the first game in the franchise aren’t excited for this upcoming title.

One of the main reasons for the criticism is the game’s lead character, who has sparked controversy due to some of her public statements. Beyond that, many fans feel the game looks generic and not significantly different from Ghost of Tsushima.

Recently, the studio also found itself at the center of a political controversy, drawing even more criticism. A new trailer for Yotei was released, and due to the ongoing issues surrounding the game, it has been bombarded with dislikes.

Why it matters: When a game trailer receives more dislikes than likes, it can be a strong indicator that the game may struggle at launch and that the fanbase is not on board.

Ghost of Yotei’s Recent Trailer Has Been Bombarded With Dislikes

As shown in the image above, the trailer has been heavily bombarded with dislikes. It currently sits at just 15K likes compared to 31K dislikes, giving it a dislike ratio of more than two to one.

A game receiving more than twice as many dislikes as likes is rarely a good sign, and it usually reflects significant dissatisfaction from the gaming community

This ratio comes from the official PlayStation YouTube channel. IGN also posted the trailer, and there, it has received nearly four times more dislikes than likes.

It appears that fans have expressed their disappointment in the comments section, suggesting that the discussions there are more engaging than the trailer itself. This shows the game may not perform as well as its predecessor.
