How To Choose The Right CPU
All these deals are great, but if you’re unsure about which CPU is ideal for you, consider:
- AMD vs Intel: While this is down to personal preference, AMD’s CPUs, namely the X3D chips, have generally dominated in gaming performance in the past few years. For productivity performance, both Intel and AMD’s high-end CPUs are excellent choices.
- Benchmarks: Watch reviews and benchmarks on the CPUs to determine which one is the best performer in your intended workloads.
- Budget: Depending on your budget, you’ll generally be limited to a certain market section of CPUs (budget/entry-level, mid-range, and high-end). Select the right one based on the price along with its performance.
- Your GPU: It is important to pick an ideal pairing of CPU and GPU for optimal performance from both the components. A mid-range GPU (like the RX 9070) should ideally be paired with a mid-range CPU. (like the Ryzen 7 9700X)
