Capcom Is Censoring Its Games And Fans Are Not Liking It

Capcom Isn't Capcom Anymore?

Story Highlight
  • Capcom has been censoring its upcoming games despite the fandom’s request not to do so.
  • The company’s localization team in Japan is reportedly staffed with Western activists, which is why there has been much censorship.
  • The fandom is furious over the recent censorship and claims not to buy these games.

Capcom is behind the famous series like Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter. While the developer/publisher is well-known in the gaming industry, it had a lot of trouble a few years ago. It would be fair to say that Resident Evil remakes saved it.

Capcom may have lost its way as it seems to be embracing censorship.

Why it matters: Japanese companies weren’t affected by the West’s propaganda. However, Capcom’s change in plan is concerning, and other Japanese companies may follow suit.

Capcom Censoring Onimusha 2 Remaster
Capcom Has Censored The Onimusha 2 Remaster.

Grummz noticed on Twitter that Capcom is censoring some of its games, but the Japanese aren’t to blame. According to him, the company’s localization team in Japan has been staffed by Western activists for a while now, and they are making such changes.

The user has noticed this in the upcoming Onimusha 2 remaster. The original title did not have censorship, and fans liked that. However, the developer has made several changes in the upcoming remaster, and that has caused massive concerns among the fandom.

How do we get these activists out of Japanese companies and stop them from being able to gatekeep what content we get?

Why does Japan work with woke localizers? Is there no other option?

More Censorship
Capcom Seems To Be More Involved In Censorship of Games.

Recently, Capcom revealed some information about the upcoming game’s remaster. The company adjusted Oyu’s special costume to reduce skin exposure, which again angered a massive fandom.

Normally I would be your target customer. I do not support cowardice or censorship. This is a no buy for me.

This company is also concerned with the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. It censored the female characters but left the male characters as they were. Not only that, but it also censored the art in the Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
