The latest Nintendo Direct started strong with new footage and key details for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. First announced 7 years ago, the game’s development history was rocky before finally landing the right spot with Retro Studios.
Nintendo has just released some footage for the upcoming FPS. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will be released sometime in 2025.
Why it matters: Metroid Prime is undoubtedly one of Nintendo’s most beloved FPS franchises. Still, the series hasn’t seen a new entry in over a decade. The release date for the next Metroid Prime title will surely please the series’ fans.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will drop players into the unknown planet of Viewros. As Samus, players will interact with unknown alien species and try to survive the planet’s surprises as Samus tries to escape home.
The game also features psychic abilities from which players can operate mechanisms to open pathways and move forward. Moreover, these psychic abilities can also be used to control the trajectory of her beams and hit multiple enemies at the same time.
The short video shows fast-paced gameplay reminiscent of the DOOM games. However, every bit of the DNA from the older Metroid Prime games is still very much present in the new entry.
Expect more details on the game before launch in the upcoming Nintendo shows, as the release date and platforms’ release are still indefinite.
