Bloober Team Is All Locked In!

Story Highlight
  • An insider has claimed that Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 3 remake is already in the works.
  • The SH3 remake will focus on survival horror instead of a solid narrative, but it will keep a style similar to that of the SH2 remake.
  • Fans have made a notable connection, which implies that the studio is also working on the SH remake.

Many Silent Hill franchise veterans and newcomers were wary of having the Bloober Team handle the Silent Hill 2 remake. However, the studio proved everyone wrong as the project became a strong GOTY contender this year. Konami is seemingly fully capitalizing on the new golden goose it has secured, as an insider suggests the conglomerate now wants the Silent Hill franchise to be big.

Now, a leak from a couple of months ago has surfaced that suggests the Bloober Team is already brewing the Silent Hill 3 remake. And another theory also indicates that the Silent Hill remake will launch before it.

Why it matters: Bloober Team is seemingly already working on Silent Hill 1 and 3 remakes, as the insider and a notable fan theory suggested. The studio is confirmed to be working on multiple unannounced projects.

A PlayStation insider claims that Silent Hill and Silent Hill 3 remakes are already in the works.
An insider claims the Silent Hill 3 remake is already in the works.

As claimed by the insider @Planeta_Play_ on Twitter, Silent Hill 3 is the studio’s upcoming codenamed Project H. It follows the style of the Silent Hill 2 remake, but it will allegedly greatly focus on survival horror instead of a more solid narrative.

A compelling fan theory on Reddit also implies that Bloober Team’s upcoming codenamed Project G is the rumoured Silent Hill remake. If we go by alphabetical order, they are possibly related.

Konami has apparently noticed the highly positive player and sales reception of Silent Hill 2 Remake and is likely taking full advantage of it. Regardless, droves of gamers have also demanded those Silent Hill 1 and 3 remakes anyway.

Silent Hill 2 Remake was arguably Bloober Team’s best work.

All in all, it is best to take these rumors with a grain of salt, as Bloober Team has not confirmed that any other SH remakes are in development. However, the developers are certainly happy to develop more remakes.

Do you think Bloober Team is now fully committed to creating more Silent Hill remake projects, or are these rumors just a nothing burger? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
