Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has a lot of hype behind it, as the game has a lot of potential. Many fans are optimistic about this title, and they seem to be right.

The title is aiming for some groundbreaking moments with the cinematic story telling direction, which shouldn’t be confusing given that Amy Henning is working on it.

Why it matters: Marvel Games aren’t really known for their storytelling, but this could change with Rise of Hydra. The title originates from a comic book featuring a lot of rich content.

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the award-winning gaming director and writer Amy Henning revealed that the developer aims to deliver groundbreaking content.

As a new studio trying to do some groundbreaking stuff with cinematically presented games, the way we invite the most people in is by bringing them something they already know and love, but in a new form.

-Amy Henning

Henning led the development of the legendary Uncharted and Legacy of Kain series. So, given her work in such titles, it isn’t surprising that she is going with the same strategy for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

Henning also revealed that the game aims for photorealistic visuals, so I won’t just be providing a compelling narrative. She described it as a ‘photo-real, cinema-real level of detail.’

We really wanted the visual fidelity to be high so that you could kind of forget that you’re looking at a game, that it should feel and look and sound and smell like you’re watching a great Marvel movie or TV show, but you’re driving the action.
