- PS5 Pro is being sold at a reduced price by UK retailers.
- The console is out for a week and is already receiving price cuts.
- Scalpers are also selling it at a loss on sites like eBay.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has now been out for about a week and after thorough testing, it doesn’t seem like the upgrade that it promised. Therefore, due to low demand, retailers in the UK have already cut the prices of the PS5 Pro.
Why it matters: Fans have been vocal about the $700 price tag and openly criticizing it. This has led to low sales therefore forcing retailers at least in the UK to already reduce the price.
UK retailer EE and Argos have slashed the PS5 Pro’s price by £40. It was originally priced at £699.99 but is now selling for £659.99. Since the site doesn’t mention anything about the original price, it seems that the £40 off is here to say.
This isn’t surprising as PS5 Pro is also readily available at most retailers right now. This isn’t normally the case with new releases. Even the base PS5 sold at a significantly higher price when it was released and stock was rarely seen albeit that was COVID times.
Even the scalpers have faced the heat as they are currently selling the PS5 Pro at a loss. You can even find it for as low as £600 on platforms like eBay. This indicates Sony is struggling to sell its latest hardware.
Nonetheless, it seems that more price cuts will follow based on the seemingly underwhelming sales. However, we are yet to receive any official sales figures from Sony at this point.
