Might Improve The Mixed Rating on Steam!

Story Highlight
  • God of War Ragnarok launch was not optimal due to the PSN account requirement and performance issues.
  • However, a mod has been released that removes this unnecessary step, allowing players to play the game without any issues.
  • Moreover, a patch has now been released to fix the Nvidia DLSS Frame generation.

God of War Ragnarok is the latest Sony PC port after Final Fantasy 16. The port looks highly unoptimized and does not run on PCs with low-VRAM graphics cards. Due to optimization issues, Sony didn’t achieve much success with the port, as the players on Steam are subpar.

Another reason the game’s player count is low is the PSN account requirement. However, this requirement is no longer a problem, as there is now a mod that removes it.

Why it matters: Removing this hectic step will lead to some positive impressions of the game, and the mixed rating on Steam might improve.

Thanks To A Mod God of War Ragnarok PSN Requirement is No Longer An Issue

God of War Ragnarok was one of the most awaited PC ports, and it finally launched on PC; however, the launch was disappointing for Sony as it got mixed reviews due to the poor optimization and PSN requirement.

Due to these issues, the game saw an underwhelming 23k peak concurrent players on Steam. For reference, God of War had 80k peak players.

However, there’s good news for PC players: The PSN account requirement will no longer be an issue. Now, there is a mod by iArtorias that removes this preliminary step.

Meanwhile, the developer also added a patch fixing the glass frame generation issue, which means the game is getting better.

These fixes might increase the game’s performance on Steam, making it a successful port. Needless to say, we should wait to see how much the game performs sales-wise on PC.

The quality of PC ports is declining progressively, as we recently saw the Final Fantasy 16 port become a worse port because of performance issues.
