Not Many Gamers Think PS5 Pro Is Worth It!

Story Highlight
  • A new poll finds that over 80% of gamers are unwilling to upgrade to PS5 Pro for GTA 6.
  • The poll assumed that GTA 6 would run at 30 FPS with ultra graphics settings, supporting higher resolution with ray tracing.
  • The player sentiment is largely negative because the PS5 Pro is expensive and likely not worth the upgrade.

GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games set for release this decade. So, many users in the community are eyeing the best platform that can realize the game’s massive potential. However, now that the PS5 Pro has been revealed, recent statistics suggest that not many players are as enthusiastic about buying as initially thought.

The post-announcement sentiment for the new PS5 model has been quite mixed, as it is priced quite highly for a casual gamer. These variables have severely affected the number of players willing to grab one solely for GTA 6.

Why it matters: The poll reveals that not many gamers are willing to upgrade to PS5 Pro for the sake of GTA 6.

A new poll by the Twitter user @Okami13_ has confirmed that over 80% of the community is unwilling to upgrade to PS5 Pro for GTA 6. The poll assumes that Rockstar’s new magnum opus would run only at 30 FPS—same as base PS5—with ultra graphics setting, alongside higher resolution and raytracing.

The results are extremely skewed towards not buying a PS5 Pro just for GTA 6 because the upgrades in specifications are likely not worth it for many gamers. Many who voted in the poll find its $700 pricing to be quite extreme, while others already own a PS5 or a well-built PC.

GTA 6
Fans still suspect that GTA 6 will look the best on the PS5 Pro until its PC release

The assumptions made in the poll are also worth considering, as many argue that GTA 6 might not even reach ultra settings on the PS5 Pro. Digital Foundry also confirmed that PS5 Pro wouldn’t be able to run the game at 60FPS, so the odds aren’t in favour of this upcoming console.
