WWE Superstar Can't Put Elden Ring Down!

Story Highlight
  • Randy Orton has played a whopping 600 hours of Elden Ring since launch.
  • The WWE superstar was able to play as much as he liked due to a recent spinal surgery.
  • He even compared being able to play Elden Ring during his free time to Christmas.

Elden Ring’s appeal transcends the typical FromSoftware fandoms. The game is so huge that various celebrities, including the likes of Elon Musk and Randy Orton, have talked about their love for this particular FromSoftware release.

In the latter’s case, the WWE superstar previously revealed that he paid someone $1000 to level his character in the game. He has once again discussed Elden Ring, revealing that his journey in the Lands Between has now spanned more than 600 hours.

Why it matters: This story highlights just how far Elden Ring’s appeal goes. This FromSoftware success story is more than just a game and has turned into a cultural phenomenon.

Speaking to Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton revealed how he had a ton of time on his hands after a spinal fusion surgery. The WWE superstar decided to use all that time to explore the vast world of Elden Ring.

I’ve got like 600 hours on that game.

He then proceeded to describe how much he loved Elden Ring and everything FromSoftware did with the game. The WWE superstar compared playing it to Christmas at his house every day.

Randy Orton even said that he wished Cody Rhodes was a fellow tarnished. Cody Rhodes has quite the history with gaming himself, though it seems he has yet to play Elden Ring due to his current responsibilities as the face of WWE.

FromSoftware’s magnum opus has sold over 25 million copies. Its DLC also reached an impressive 5 million sales in three days, so it’s hardly a surprise that even popular figures like Randy Orton love the game.

Still, it’s great to see the gaming industry being promoted by such popular people. Perhaps this interview will even encourage a few Randy Orton fans to try the game for themselves.
