Halo In Safe Hands With Bungie Veteran!

Story Highlight
  • A former Bungie developer suggests that the next big entry in the Halo franchise is in the works.
  • The developer is now working as the Lead Game Designer on the project.
  • This entry may be based on Unreal Engine 5.

While the future of Halo is a mystery for now, recent job listings from 343 Industries hinted that work on a new project was already underway. The team has moved on from the Master Chief Collection and now hopes to create a brand-new experience while supporting Halo Infinite.

Further evidence of a brand-new entry has been spotted on LinkedIn. It also seems that a former Bungie employee is leading the development this time.

Why it matters: Bungie was the original home for Halo when the series was fresh. This studio is also popular for high-quality first-person shooters like Destiny, inspiring confidence for Halo’s future.

As seen above, the LinkedIn profile of Dan Gniady, who is currently working at 343 Industries, suggests that the next mainline Halo entry has begun development.

Dan Gniady

343 Industries hired Dan Gniady in April earlier this year as a lead developer for its next title. The developer has been in the industry for a long time, working for studios like Bungie and Creative Assembly before joining 343 Industries.

Dan Gniady was previously involved in Destiny for nearly 10 years. While he may not have been one of the many Bungie veterans who helped bring Halo to life, his time at the studio likely equipped him with the skills to create an exceptional first-person shooter.

Recent leaks have suggested that Xbox is working on a remake of the Halo trilogy, which may also be released on the PS5. However, since Dan Gniady is said to be working on a new experience, he may not be part of this project.

Nonetheless, anything sounds exciting for Halo fans at the moment.

Halo Infinite turns three later this year, and it hasn’t had the best time during these years. Many fans hope to see something exciting and fresh from 343 Industries, so the prospect of a brand-new entry is quite exciting.
