Xbox's 2025 Lineup Sounds Incredible!

Story Highlight
  • State of Decay 3 did not receive a launch window during its latest trailer.
  • An insider now reports that Xbox is targeting a 2025 launch for the title.
  • When combined with Fable and Doom: The Dark Ages, this release would lead to Xbox’s biggest lineup to date.

State of Decay 3 is one of the many games that Xbox announced ahead of time. The first trailer for this title debuted in 2020, and Undead Labs finally showed up with a new trailer earlier this month.

The game looked better than ever in the latest footage, and an insider has shared even more good news. According to his sources, State of Decay 3 is targeting a 2025 launch.

Why it matters: State of Decay 3 is Undead Labs’ most ambitious project to date, and it should prove to be a major addition to Xbox’s live-service lineup.

This update comes from the reliable insider Jez Corden. According to his information, the game is coming sooner than most expected.

Since Xbox debuted the latest trailer without any dates, it was assumed that State of Decay 3 would not be launching before 2026. The gaming giant followed a similar trend with Fable, which was previously shown two years before its 2025 release target.

However, if this release window ends up being accurate, Xbox could have its biggest lineup to date next year since Fable, South of Midnight, and Doom: The Dark Ages are already confirmed for 2025.

Recent rumors have even hinted at a similar launch window for Gears of War E-Day. There’s so much content, in fact, that Microsoft could choose to hold back games to ensure each release gets its time in the limelight.

Fans should expect regular updates on State of Decay 3 if the game is this close to release. Perhaps Xbox will showcase more uncut gameplay before the end of the year.

State of Decay 3 is described as bigger and darker than previous releases. The team aims to expand the sandbox elements of the experience while providing more emotional depth at the same time.

Needless to say, fans have plenty of reason to be excited about this release.
