- Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been a highly interesting title from the beginning.
- While Ubisoft’s move to Japan was intriguing, fans weren’t sold after the first reveal.
- A new gameplay trailer is now available, and it looks stunning.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows, being developed by 16 different studios, is arguably the most exciting Ubisoft game right now. This entry has shown too much promise to ignore, but it was criticized a lot due to the main characters.
The Japanese fandom didn’t seem to like it much, and then review bombed the trailer on YouTube. However, that didn’t affect the sales as it became the top seller on PlayStation shortly.
Many fans were expecting the game to appear during Ubisoft Forward tomorrow, but Xbox managed to give us a first look at the Xbox Games Showcase.
Why it matters: Assassin’s Creed Shadows has managed to garner a massive fandom that is awaiting its release, so a new look has been more than welcome.
The game stuns in the new trailer and keeps fans excited for tomorrow. Naoe is shown performing various iconic Assassin’s Creed maneuvers, including the leap of faith. She also possesses a grapple hook, adding more options to the many encounters.
Other important elements shown in the trailer include the hidden blade, environmental interactions, and more. Elsehwere, Yasuke’s gameplay resembles that of Ghost of Tsushima. As the powerhouse of the duo, he can overwhelm enemies.
Ubisoft’s upgraded engine is also at full display. Assassin’s Creed Shadows looks much better than anything the team has delivered for this franchise, raising the bar for visuals and animations.
While this trailer featured various cuts between cinematics and gameplay, fans can expect a more detailed look tomorrow.
Ubisoft Forward goes live on June 10. Like last year, the publisher will likely highlight up to 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows to continue the excitement created by this trailer.
If this isn’t exciting enough, games like Star Wars Outlaws will also show up at the same event. Unfortunately, recent rumors state that Splinter Cell’s remake won’t be featured at Ubisoft’s showcase this year.
