2nd Biggest Ubisoft Game By Daily Play Time!

Story Highlight
  • Skull and Bones has received an encouraging update from Ubisoft.
  • The publisher states it showed strong engagement and the second-best daily play time for a Ubisoft game.
  • It also pointed to 138 million active users across all its IPs last fiscal year.

Skull and Bones has been viewed with skepticism for a while. Shortly after launch, it was noted that this game was being outpaced, even by Suicide Squad. However, Ubisoft has another story to tell.

The recent earnings report states that Skull and Bones had the second-best daily play time of any Ubisoft title in the previous fiscal year.

Why it matters: This result ensures that Skull and Bones will continue to be supported for at least a year, allowing fans to get their money’s worth out of this purchase.

Ubisoft has just released its FY24 earnings, revealing its metrics for the last year. Regarding Skull and Bones, the publisher revealed that the game has displayed strong engagement.

The publisher made similar comments shortly after launch.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft reported an uplift of over 30% in net bookings for fiscal year 2024. It pointed to both Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six as strong performers, boasting over 30 million active unique players.

Skull and Bones Was In Development For Many Years

As for Skull and Bones, Ubisoft revealed that season 2 will come with new PvE and solo game modes. The studio hopes to retain existing players and attract newcomers through this content update.

Ubisoft is likely to continue investing in the game as a source of live-service revenue. It has also discounted the title quite aggressively recently, opening it up to even more players.

The recent report is great news for Skull and Bones. While live-service titles can often fail unexpectedly, Ubisoft seems pleased with the results for now.

Moving further into 2024, the studio is looking forward to releases like Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This catalog should allow it to cover all the bases, including single-player and multiplayer titles.
