Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Requires 20-25 Hours to Complete

Almost 2x The Length of Sands of Time!

Story Highlights
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown boasts a massive 25-hour campaign.
  • The title is considerably longer compared to Sands of Time, which lasted around 10 hours.
  • Ubisoft has confirmed it will run at 60FPS on all available platforms.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was announced back in June 2023. While the Sands of Time Remake is progressing well, Ubisoft came out with a brand new entry to keep fans busy in the meantime.

The 2.5D side scroller releases in January, and it might turn out better than everyone’s anticipation. Previews for the title suggest a hefty campaign size, with the title reportedly taking about 20-25 hours to complete.

Why it matters: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is not the usual high-fidelity AAA title, which is reflected in its price. Costing below $60, this 2.5D side scroller appears to offer a lot for the asking price.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Protagonist

This is a massive game, considering Sands of Time only took about 10 hours to complete. While the 20-25 hour duration is expected for most players, those looking to go the extra mile will find that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown does not disappoint.

Completionists will likely find 10-15 more hours of content in the game, encouraging exploration and replayability. Moreover, according to IGN’s preview, the game is every bit as interesting as you could expect from a Prince of Persia title.

It isn’t exactly what the fans wanted, evidenced by the dislikes on its YouTube trailer. However, those willing to give Price of Persia: The Lost Crown a chance will find there is much to like about this 2.5D reinvention of the series.

The performance figures also seem promising. Ubisoft has asserted that it will run at 60FPS across the board. In addition to the home consoles, this target will be present on the Nintendo Switch.

Since Ubisoft is going for a platforming experience with precise timing and tight controls, 60FPS is a welcome addition.

While there were a few bugs during the preview, these should be resolved by the time the game is ready to release. All in all, we could be looking at the title that resurrects the Price of Persia franchise in a way nobody saw coming.
