"Respawn is Currently Working On The Third Game"

The Star Wars IP is going strong in the gaming industry. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been well received despite technical issues, and Massive Entertainment is also working on Star Wars Outlaws.

At the Ocala Comic Con 2023, Cameron Monaghan, the actor known for bringing Cal Kestis to life, confirmed another piece of exciting information for fans of the Star Wars Jedi franchise of games.

With his notable roles in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Monaghan confirmed the development of the third installment in the franchise.

Why it matters: In July, we found a job listing hinting at the development of a third installment in the Star Wars franchise. Now, the actor behind Cal Kestis essentially confirms it.

In a lively Q&A, a passionate fan asked about Monaghan’s current projects. With a positive response, he shared that the Respawn team is hard at work on the next game.

“We [Respawn] are working on the third [game] and we are currently in the process of doing it right now.”

This news sparks excitement, confirming that something big is underway. Additionally, Monaghan stressed the immense scale of this project and teased an outcome that will truly amaze fans.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Fast Travel

Although the exact release date is unknown, fans will likely need to wait patiently, considering the gap between the first two releases and the fact that the series recently lost its director, Stig Asmussen.

Further talking about the Star Wars world, Cameron Monaghan talked about Turgle, a frog-like inhabitant of the planet Koboh. He expressed a newfound interest in Turgle’s actions, hinting that there might be more to him than meets the eye.

Monaghan intriguingly suggested the potential of hidden schemes within Turgle’s mysterious background.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor immersed players in an engaging story set five years after the events of its forerunner, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Both games transported players to a galaxy ruled by the iron grip of the Galactic Empire.

The latest title in the franchise was released on April 28, 2023, on current-generation consoles and PC. However, the PC port of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a mess and remains unoptimized to this day.

Players will be hoping that Respawn Entertainment will learn from its mistakes and release the third installment in a polished state.
