Highest Player Count Since October 2022!

Cyberpunk 2077 released its massive update recently, impressing fans and newcomers with the new additions and gameplay changes to the nearly three-year-old title from CD Projekt RED.

Prior to this massive update, Cyberpunk 2077 moved past 500K positive reviews on Steam, highlighting the anticipation for the update and the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion.

These updates to the game have led to a resurgence on Steam. Following the release of the 2.0 update, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached over 115K concurrent players on Steam for the first time since October 2022.

Why it matters: The current interest may be the beginning of the game’s latest boom in popularity. Previously, Cyberpunk 2077 saw similar interest after the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

According to SteamDB, Cyberpunk 2077 peaked at just over 115K concurrent players in the last 24 hours. Over 112K players are immersed in the RPG at the moment, pointing to the buzz surrounding the game.

While these numbers are nowhere near the concurrent player counts from the 2020 release, they are impressive, considering the current year already has numerous new releases to keep gamers engaged.

Cyberpunk 2077 had an average of 30K peak concurrent players over the last year. As stated earlier, it reached over 100K concurrent players in October 2022, marking the first instance of such interest in the game in 2023.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

The title has also managed to stay relevant between new releases like Mortal Kombat 1 and Payday 3, currently standing as the second-best-selling release on Steam.

Cyberpunk 2077 currently has an unmatched air of positivity around the franchise. The Phantom Liberty expansion has been showered with praise, and the 2.0 update has finally realized the game’s full potential.

CD Projekt RED has been seeking redemption for nearly three years since it broke the trust of millions of gamers.

While Phantom Liberty is still a few days from release, it appears the studio’s efforts have already been successful, bringing hundreds of thousands of new and old players to the exciting universe of Cyberpunk 2077.
