Intel Back on Top!

The Intel Core i9-14900KF has yet again been spotted on the internet. This time, the Intel CPU shows impressive single-core performance scores compared to its predecessor.

Like previous KF SKUs, the Intel Core i9-14900K is identical to the KF variant. The major difference comes with the absence of integrated graphics in the latter, leading to a small price reduction.

The Intel Core i9-14900KF was just spotted on PassMark, scoring an impressive 4,939 points in single-core performance. This score has boosted the Intel processor to the top of the charts.

On the other hand, its predecessor, the Intel Core i9-13900K, has a score of just 4,666 points. While this is impressive, an increase in single-core performance was always expected of the Intel Core i9-14900KF.

The Raptor Lake Refresh processor now comes with a higher 6 GHz frequency compared to 5.8 GHz on the previous generation. This makes it, on average, 6% faster in single-core performance.

The multi-threading scores, on the other hand, are a bit lower than the last generation, making it strange that a new processor with a higher frequency is outperformed by its predecessor.

However, these results come from one benchmark without any details about the exact hardware or environment the tests were performed around, making it hard to judge the processor.

While the Raptor Lake Refresh has been rumored for a while, the recent Innovation event from Intel did not mention any details regarding this lineup. Instead, the entire event was focused on the new laptop-based Meteor Lake processor and AI integration.

Nonetheless, the Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to arrive next month. Intel is rumored to release processors like the Intel Core i5-14600K, Core i7-14700K, and the flagship Core i9 14900K.
