Remnant 2 took the Remnant IP to new heights recently. With over 100K concurrent Steam players, it became a massive hit compared to its 2019 predecessor.
Remnant 2 went on to sell over a million copies in a week, shattering all expectations from the developers. This success is also indicated in a recent report, which states Remnant 2 was the best-selling game in the US last month.
Why it matters: This is a massive milestone for Gunfire Games, and the number of high-quality releases in 2023 makes it even more impressive. Despite a plethora of options available to gamers, Remnant 2 continues to perform well.

Mat Piscatella from Circana reports that Remnant 2 beat competitors like Diablo 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the top spot in the US.
Considering the fact that IPs like Call of Duty and Final Fantasy have been popular for several decades, this is a massive achievement for Gunfire Games and its latest release.
Among the new games, titles like Pikmin 4 performed well, making it to the top 10 best-sellers in the US. However, Capcom’s Exporimal proved underwhelming, with the 16th spot on the list.
It should be noted this list includes both physical and digital sales from all platforms, including the likes of Nintendo eShop and Steam.
Remnant 2 has a number of appealing qualities, with the developers boasting an incredibly varied and lengthy journey with enough secrets to keep players engaged for over 400 hours.
Gunfire Games has also promised plenty of DLC content to keep players coming back for more. Over the next few years, three major DLC releases will offer new threats and gameplay scenarios for fans of the IP.
