Red Dead Redemption 2 Goes Beyond 55 Million Sales Milestone

Nearly 80 Million Total Franchise Sales!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is among Rockstar Games’ best releases to date. Offering an immersive open-world adventure with jaw-dropping visuals, the game absorbs players into the journey of Arthur Morgan.

Many positive qualities have led to critical acclaim for the game, and it has also become a huge financial success for the studio. According to Take-Two’s latest report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 55 million units.

Why it matters: Red Dead Redemption 2 was among the highest-rated games of the last generation. It is also considered one of Rockstar Games’ best works in the industry.

Red Dead Redemption 2

The report confirms that the series has sold nearly 80 million units altogether. This is an impressive record, considering the first game is not available to millions of users across the PS4 and PS5 consoles.

However, this will change soon. The gaming giant recently announced a new Red Dead Redemption port for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is confirmed for an August 17 release.

Despite the initial demand for the first game on modern consoles, fans have not been too fond of Rockstar Games’ announcement. The first trailer has drawn criticism for the lack of meaningful upgrades to the game.

While Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to reach new milestones, the game has not received a current-generation upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. Enhancements like 60FPS would encourage newer players to try the title.

Still, Rockstar Games’ high bar of quality and attention to detail has ensured that the game continues to sell well.
