Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Lags Behind 8GB Model In First Benchmark

Even Worse Than The 8GB Version!

MSI recently released the performance results for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. This makes MSI the only board partner to provide relevant data regarding the new 16GB variant.

There has been barely any coverage regarding the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. Both Nvidia and its board partners have been taking precautions this time around. As such, none of the independent reviewers secured a review sample, making things even harder.

To prevent leaks, Nvidia did not provide day-one drivers to any reviewers that got their hands on a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. This also includes board partners like MSI and many others, who did not have much idea about the GPU’s performance.

MSI has just shared its first official benchmark on the recently launched GPU during its insider weekly podcast.

As reported by Videocardz, the results are disappointing since both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the graphics card feature the same specifications, aside from memory size. MSI tested six games on its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB.

With all the settings set to the max, the 16GB variant of the GPU performed worse than its cheaper sibling. However, that should not be the case with the extra memory, making it even more disappointing than the $100 price markup.

MSI results do not seem to be consistent. It is possible their testing methods are not as good as independent reviewers out there. Therefore, it might be best to wait for more reviews to give users an in-depth look at the performance.

Nonetheless, Nvidia seems to have released another poor graphics card in the RTX 4000 series. With the current boom in AI sales, Nvidia seems to have shifted its goals away from what the company was known for.
