The current year has had no shortage of gaming showcases. Over the last two months, gaming giants like PlayStation and Xbox hosted their events. Following these events, Gamescom is returning in August.

Gamescom is an annual event hosted in Germany. In addition to various gaming giants, Xbox and Bethesda have confirmed their presence for Gamescom 2023.

Why it matters: The presence of Xbox and Bethesda could add to the excitement around the event. Both gaming giants have various games that could become highlights on the showfloor.

Alongside Bethesda, various publishers, such as Bandai Namco, are attending the event. Similarly, Nintendo is returning to the event after four years.

Gamescom is scheduled for August 23-27. The event’s major showcase is also confirmed, with Geoff Keighley returning for Opening Night Live on August 22. Both Xbox and Bethesda could be featured at this showcase.

It should be noted the event will be held weeks before the launch of Starfield. Therefore, Xbox could reveal a new trailer for the game, capitalizing on the incredible excitement around the title.

Previously, Matt Booty was asked about missing games from the Xbox Showcase. He mentioned various events that could serve as venues for more Xbox reveals, and one of those events was Gamescom.

Therefore, new reveals from Xbox and Bethesda could also show up.

Aside from Gamescom, franchises like Call of Duty are expected to reveal their next entry in August. This should mean that August is shaping up to be another exciting month for gaming audiences worldwide.

Fans have already enjoyed various showcases in May and June, but Gamescom has the potential to be another exceptional event for the gaming industry.
