Link has returned with yet another exciting adventure in Hyrule. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom received highly positive reviews, becoming the top-rated title on OpenCritic.
However, many have expressed concern about the game’s resolution and frame rate. While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom runs well at a steady 30FPS on the hybrid console, it can sometimes show poor frame rates.
The emulation community appears to have solved this issue, with the game now being playable up to 8K with 60FPS.
Why it matters: PC users are used to 60FPS gaming and find it hard to play games at lower frame rates. Despite their excellent gameplay, Nintendo Switch titles can be difficult to enjoy for such users.
The video above demonstrates the game running at 8K resolution on the Yuzu emulator. The Legen of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom holds a very solid 60FPS for the most part, dipping slightly below this target in intense areas.
While the hardware required for this kind of performance and resolution is very high-end and expensive, more reasonable specifications should also be able to handle the game at 60FPS with enough tweaking.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild was also a treat to play on PC through emulation. Both games now run much better than their native Nintendo counterparts while also looking better.
Whichever platforms users pick, the latest Zelda title is a joy to play. With an expansive open world and new mechanics that encourage creativity, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom has quickly become one of the best releases of 2023 and could go on to win the Game of The Year award despite the tough competition.
