QuakeCon Returns With In-Person Event!

Bethesda Softworks has finally confirmed on its website that QuakeCon 2023 is returning from August 10 to 13th.

The Bring Your Own Computer(BYOC) focus is returning after three years. It last happened in 2019, and then, due to covid for the last three years, the events shifted to being online only because of safety precautions during the pandemic.

id Software’s Marty Stratton confirmed this great news today, and he stated:

“we can’t wait to finally see our incredible community in-person again.”

Though the event will have a small gathering compared to previous years with a greater focus on BYOC, there will also be an online session stream through Twitch for fans who won’t make it to QuakeCon 2023.

As the event is not focusing on a more prominent physical gathering presence, there will not be general admissions or an exhibit hall. Pre-registrations will begin soon, on April 21, and only pre-registered BYOCs will be available to attend the event.

This is exciting news for QuakeCon fans who have been missing the in-person event for the past three years; they can also enjoy the Quake World Championships featuring Quake Champions and many other community events.

The proper layout for the event will be released soon, and this may include information on upcoming Bethesda games like Starfield and more. Are you excited about QuakeCon? Have you been to one before? Let’s discuss this in the comments below.
