Unlike the other RTX 40 series card, the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 will be available in two flavors. The GeForce RTX 4070 will feature both the modern 16-pin and the standard 8-pin power connector.
The pictures of two MSI GeForce RTX 4070 cards, including a budget and a high-end card, have been leaked ahead of launch. These models include the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X 12G OC and the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio 12G.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X 12G OC is an entry-level model and would probably be offered at MSRP. The card also features a dual-slot design and will come equipped with the standard 8-pin power connector while running at default frequency without much room for overclocking.
The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio 12G, on the other hand, is a high-tier graphics card and will feature a 2.5-slot design. The card will also come equipped with a modern 16-pin design. The MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio 12G, being a higher-end card, is also a much longer and broader card, and the modern 16-pin design is probably there to help with overclocking.
GPU-Z also confirmed the specifications of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070. According to GPU-Z, the Zotac model of the graphics card comes with 5888 CUDA cores, 184 Texture Units, and 64 Raster Units. Furthermore, the card will also feature 12 GB memory on a 192-bit memory bus and run at 21 Gbps.
Aside from the GeForce RTX 4070 Ventus 3X and Gaming, MSI will also launch the Suprim variant of the card, which would be the second most expensive card from the manufacturer. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 is coming next week on 14th April 2023.
