Last year, this shooter recorded its highest number of players to date, showing signs of even more life. However, Team Fortress 2 seems to have become nearly unplayable over the past few months.

Currently, the game has fallen to mostly negative reviews on Steam.

Why it matters: Recently, games like Helldivers 2 went through a similar situation, with the community using review bombing as a force for good.

As seen above, Team Fortress 2 has received over 20K reviews in the last 30 days, and only 27% are positive. This suggests the game received around 15K negative reviews over the previous month.

It should be noted that these numbers are likely to increase as more players engage with the reviews in an attempt to gain Valve’s attention. This is also the first time the shooter has fallen to ‘mostly negative’ reviews since its launch.

Most of the review players complained that Valve has abandoned the franchise for so long and doesn’t care about its community.

A petition to save the tile has also gathered over 200K signatures, suggesting the community is tired of the current situation.
