Ubisoft's Massive Star Wars Game Is Upon Us!

Story Highlight
  • Star Wars Outlaws will receive a story trailer today.
  • The game’s release date has been leaked ahead of this premiere.
  • Ubisoft will launch the title on 30 August.

Many of the year’s biggest games have yet to be released, including Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws. Dubbed the most detailed title in the Star Wars universe, this game has millions waiting for its arrival.

With multiple hints coming out recently, a release date was expected to be unveiled soon. It seems the official announcement will come out later today, but Ubisoft Japan has already leaked a 30 August release date.

Why it matters: Many fans were curious about a release date, and the recent ratings have increased excitement within the fandom.

Ubisoft Japan appears to have spilled the beans through its YouTube description before the premiere. While the video has yet to arrive, the YouTube description confirms a launch in August.

It also mentions the Gold and Ultimate Editions, which will allow three days of early access. Gamers who buy the more expensive editions will receive cosmetics and a few other perks, which is typical of Ubisoft titles.

This also means that Ubisoft intended to confirm the release date later today. The official story trailer will debut in just a few more hours, sharing more information on Kay Vess and the other characters.

While disappointing for Ubisoft, the leak has been exciting for fans.

Star Wars Outlaws Is Only A Few Months Away

As implied by the recent ratings, Star Wars Outlaws is much closer than most people expected.

The August launch also frees up space for Assassin’s Creed Red, which is expected to arrive later in 2024. Perhaps the game will launch in November or October like its predecessors.

Star Wars Outlaws is the latest in the long line of games based on this IP. While this franchise has typically stayed with publishers like EA in the past, a partnership with Ubisoft gives Disney a unique opportunity.

While it already looks promising, we hope the game lives up to its potential and ushers in a new age of open-world Star Wars games.
