"We Are Highly Confident Rockstar Games Will Deliver"

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 was previously announced for 2025.
  • According to Take-Two, this monumental release is scheduled for Fall 2025.
  • The publisher remains confident in Rockstar Games, but it did not share when the next round of marketing would begin.

GTA 6 has had a 2025 release window for some time, but rumors have started circulating that the game’s development is behind schedule, and it might even be delayed until 2026.

However, Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, has recently dispelled these rumors, narrowing the game’s release window to Fall 2025 as expected. The publisher expressed strong confidence in meeting this deadline in a recent earnings call.

Why it matters: Fans have been waiting for GTA 6 for over a decade, and a delay to 2026 would have been a tough blow for everyone eagerly anticipating the game.

In the past, reports also claimed that Rockstar Games’ initial target for launch was Q1 2025. However, the Take-Two CEO has confirmed that the game is expected to launch at the very end of next year.

“Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI.”

The CEO was also asked to comment on Rockstar Games’ marketing plans. When the question of new trailers was brought up, however, he did not have much to share.

This could indicate that the next GTA 6 trailer is far from expected. With more than a full year left before the release, fans might have to wait several months before the team follows up with more footage after the reveal trailer last year.

This release window also means that a PC version could be pushed back as far as 2027 in the worst case scenario since Rockstar Games could take a little more than a full year for the PC port.

As of now, the game is set to launch on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

Following the announcement, Take-Two has set expectations for fans. While the wait may seem more brutal than before, Rockstar Games’ history inspires confidence, suggesting that the wait will be worth it.

Take-Two’s confidence in the game’s performance is also reassuring and heightens our excitement for its release.
