Story Highlight
  • Ace Combat 8 has been in development for a while.
  • A reliable leaker has suggested that this is Bandai Namco’s next large-scale project.
  • Since the publisher is confirmed to be coming to Summer Game Fest, this event could reveal more about the title.

Not too long ago, it was noted that the development of Ace Combat 8 was in full swing since Bandai Namco confirmed that they were looking for a new team to work on the franchise again.

While this publisher is known for multiple large-scale franchises, including Elden Ring, Tekken, and more, a leaker suggests Ace Combat 8 will be Bandai Namco’s next big release.

Why it matters: Ace Combat 7 was a major hit for the developers, selling over 4 million copies. Therefore, fans are excited to see where the IP goes next.

A fan recently asked Midori, a famous leaker, about the potential remakes of Tales of Destiny that never happened. The leaker stated that Bandai Namco’s next big-scale title is a Chronicle project.

While replying to another tweet, the leaker confirmed that she believes this is the next entry in the Ace Combat franchise.

I think it is Ace Combat 8.

This suggests that Ace Combat 8 may be closer than anticipated. Even if the game isn’t released soon, fans will likely receive a new look sooner than expected since Bandai Namco has been working on the project for some time.

Interestingly, Bandai Namco is confirmed to join Summer Game Fest next month. If the leaker’s word proves to be reliable again, a full reveal could be coming as early as June 2024.

While taking such leaks with a grain of salt is important, Midori has a solid track record for her leaks. The leaker is best known for reporting on studios like Sega and providing information on IPs like Persona.

The last Ace Combat entry was released half a decade ago.

Needless to say, technology and ambitions have risen much higher since then. Bandai Namco is expected to go all-out for Ace Combat 8 as it seeks to deliver another outing of high-octane flight gameplay.
