First 2 Million Sold Faster Than Nintendo Switch!

The Xbox Series S|X are the latest consoles from Microsoft. Having been released over two years ago, both consoles have been doing well on the market.

According to the latest report from Games Industry, the Xbox Series S|X consoles have achieved a new milestone in the UK, with over two million units sold.

Why it matters: Microsoft was not in a great position after the last generation, but the company has been working on improving its place compared to rivals like PlayStation and Nintendo.

In addition to the milestone, these Xbox consoles are the eight fastest-selling home consoles in the UK.

Furthermore, the Xbox Series S|X have moved ahead of the Nintendo Switch, which reached 2 million sales in 140 weeks, while the Xbox Series S|X generated those sales in 128 weeks.

This is a meaningful milestone for Microsoft since the UK is traditionally dominated by PlayStation. While this does not seem likely to change anytime soon, Xbox could use upcoming releases and Game Pass to make a compelling offering.

The next few months are also crucial for Xbox worldwide, including in the UK. With games like Starfield and Forza Motorsport coming in 2023 and Game Pass offering multiple third-party games, the next few months could lead to a considerable boost in Xbox sales.
