PlayStation Reportedly Has Trailers Prepared That Were Not At Showcase

Several Unannounced Games Pretty Much Ready!

PlayStation Showcase was held on May 24, and it is fair to say that it was not the showcase fans expected. Sony skipped a showcase last year, and keeping that in mind not much was shown from PlayStation.

While fans are still excited about games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, PlayStation did not exceed expectations. According to an insider Tom Henderson, he has seen several PlayStation trailers that were not revealed at the showcase and are pretty much ready.

Why it matters: PlayStation Showcase was missing major first-party developers like Sucker Punch Productions, Sony Santa Monica, and Bluepoint Games, and fans were disappointed with the frequent third-party trailers at the event.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake

Popular leaker, The Snitch, further backed this by saying he knows some announcements that were not present during the showcase, such as a AAA PC port coming in July.

Still, it does not make much sense for Sony to hold back games ready to be shown. This could imply that Sony is trying to shorten the gap between announcing and releasing a game.

The leaker did not go into more detail about the games ready to be shown. There is a possibility these games include titles like Ghost of Tsushima 2, The Last of Us Multiplayer, and more.

It is also possible that a few of these games will be present at Summer Game Fest in June. Previously, Naughty Dog revealed key art for The Last of Us Multiplayer at the event, and the first gameplay could also be featured at Summer Game Fest.

As for the AAA PC port, a previous job listing hinted at Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart coming to PC. However, other games like Ghost of Tsushima and Demon’s Souls Remake can also be considered potential candidates for a PC release.

The reactions to the PlayStation Showcase have been far from what Sony would have wanted. Many have claimed that PlayStation needs another showcase to make up for the lackluster event, but this is unlikely.

Nonetheless, fans still have various events like Summer Game Fest, Xbox Showcase, and Ubisoft Forward to anticipate in the next few weeks. These will include a look at highly awaited titles like Mortal Kombat 1, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and more.
