A few months ago, Ubisoft released the latest entry in the Rainbow Six franchise. Rainbow Six Extraction came out in January 2022. The game built upon the previous game’s solid fundamentals while adding a new multiplayer co-op experience.

However, it seems like the team behind Rainbow Six Extraction has already moved on to their next project. This information comes from the Producer at Ubisoft, Bogdan Matara LinkedIn profile.

As the above screenshot of his LinkedIn profile shows, Bogdan is currently working as a Producer on an unannounced AAAA Project at Ubisoft Bucharest. The profile seems to suggest that the project began development in April 2022.

Eduardo Laurentiu was also a part of this project until recently. This adds further evidence to the game’s starting development in April 2022. Therefore, the game is in the very early phases of development. Given the scope of an average AAA game, it would make sense to expect at least a few years of development time before the title is ready for release.

Furthermore, Ubisoft Bucharest is also hiring for multiple positions (more than 10) that could be related to the aforementioned AAAA game.

A posting for the Lead Game Designer at Ubisoft Bucharest contains further evidence for this upcoming game.

The job listing states that the candidate must have prior experience on at least 2 AAA titles as a Lead Game Designer. This adds up with Ubisoft Bucharet’s upcoming game being huge in scope, and the team is likely looking to hire skilled developers for the project.

The upcoming title is anybody’s guess for now. Ubisoft has several franchises that could be potential candidates for a brand new game. Moreover, Ubisoft Bucharet’s AAAA title could also be a completely brand new IP.

Despite the air of mystery surrounding the project, Ubisoft’s unannounced game seems to be in safe hands. The current producer is a Ubisoft veteran who has been with the company for over 15 years.

A showcase from Ubisoft has also been announced for September 10, 2022. While the game is undoubtedly far from ready to be shown, an announcement could happen at the event in a few months.
