Ubisoft's Flagship IPs Set To Expand With More Games!

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that two Far Cry titles and various Assassin’s Creed games are in development.
  • For Assassin’s Creed, the studio is working on both multiplayer and single-player content.
  • This confirmation comes following Ubisoft’s aim to make these franchises worth a billion dollars annually.

Ubisoft continues to weather the storm of its ongoing financial turmoil following the cancellation of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. The French gaming giant now hopes to use its flagship IPs, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, etc., to bounce back.

In a new interview, the studio laid out its plans for the future of the aforementioned IPs. According to Ubisoft, various new entries are in the works for both series.

Why it matters: Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed have always been among the pillars of the open-world games genre, making them the most prominent IPs under Ubisoft’s umbrella today.

Assassin’s Creed Is Still A Huge Focus For The Company

Speaking to Variety, CEO Yves Guillemot noted that the team is currently working on two brand new Far Cry titles.

If rumors are to be believed, these two games are Project Blackbird and Project Maverick, with the former being Far Cry 7 and the latter being a multiplayer spin-off. The French gaming giant did not go into too many details regarding Far Cry, but it did hint at the future of Assassin’s Creed in the same interview.

As per Ubisoft, several new titles for the IP are currently in the works, including those belonging to single-player and multiplayer genres. Among these titles, Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Black Flag Remake are already known.

The multiplayer Assassin’s Creed Invictus is also no secret, so Ubisoft’s statement suggests that all projects are moving forward in development. Of course, it’s also possible that the team is working on other entries that have yet to be announced.
