- Take-Two is one of the biggest publishers in the gaming industry.
- The publisher’s lineup for next year looks insane, with releases like GTA 6, Borderland 4, Judas, and Mafia: The Old Country.
- If things go well, the publisher may see another level of success by the end of the year.
2025 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years in the gaming industry, and just like everyone, I have high expectations from some of the biggest titles coming next year.
Over 100 games have already been confirmed to be coming next year. I have noticed that some of the most anticipated titles are mainly from one publisher, and that’s Take-Two.
The publisher is going all in next year with the next entries in iconic franchises like GTA, Mafia, and many others, and it may be the company’s most important and biggest year yet.
Why it matters: Despite many massive titles coming next year, the most notable releases come from Take-Two.
GTA 6 Is Going To Be The Biggest Release of 2025
Of course, my personal most anticipated release is going to the next entry in the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise, GTA 6, which I have been waiting for almost a decade.
The developers have confirmed that the title will be released next year. Although many have been worried about the delay due to a recent rumor, a reliable leaker has confirmed that no such delay is being planned.
The franchise is so massive that many developers are already delaying their titles to avoid clashing with GTA 6. Still, I’m surprised to see how Take-Two is going to release all the titles without minding the clash with other games.
The Mafia Franchise Is Finally Returning
During the latest Gamescom 2024, Hangar 13 surprised everyone with the announcement of Mafia: The Old Country, a prequel to the original Mafia game coming next year.
While many fans were concerned that Mafia’s launch in the same year would clash with GTA 6, I think it’s only going to make 2025 a more interesting and massive year for the industry as both franchises are too big to see any impact.
However, I hope Take-Two sets enough of a gap between both of the releases so that I can enjoy time freely. I have waited many years for both of the titles, and it’s so exciting to know both of them are coming in the same year.
Although the release date of Mafia: The Old Country hasn’t been announced yet, it will likely be in early 2025. However, I don’t mind any release time as long as I get my hands on the title.
Take-Two Has Even More Titles To Offer Next Year
Not only is Take-Two publishing GTA 6 and the Mafia: The Old Country next year, but the publisher has a lot more to offer fans.
One such title is the next entry in the long-running Borderland franchise, Borderlands 4 from 2K Games, which is also coming next year. It’s already been a half-decade since the last entry in the franchise, so anticipation is high.
Another anticipated release coming from the publisher next year is Judas, which, although published by Ghost Story Games, still falls under Take-Two’s domain. My first impressions of the game have been highly positive.
Recent reports have also suggested that the title may be released in March of next year. While many have been waiting for the next entry in the BioShock franchise, its creator has given fans this instead, so my expectations are quite high from the developers.
2025 has many amazing titles, like Death Stranding 2 and many others, but I think GTA 6 and Mafia: The Old Country are among the most anticipated ones, and it’s insane to know both of these are coming from the same publisher.
Take-two is already one of the biggest publishers in the industry, and by the end of 2025, the publisher could reach even greater success than many may not have expected.
