Insomniac Games was founded in 1994 and became a respected Western developer in the early 2000s. The studio found popularity after its work on platformers like Ratchet & Clank, earning praise for its humorous characters and imaginative gameplay scenarios.

Today, the studio is best known for breathing new life into Spider-Man games. Following its work on Marvel’s Spider-Man, the studio was acquired by PlayStation, joining its first-party developers.
