- A former Sweet Baby employee says the company will move forward with its agenda.
- He says they are a work-for-hire company and studios approach them regularly.
- He would also like to see more companies defend Sweet Baby publicly.
Sweet Baby Inc. has been a topic of discussion in the gaming industry for quite some time. Many call it the company responsible for pushing forced DEI into gaming which ruines creativity. However, a former Sweet Baby employee says the company won’t stop its agenda despite all the backlash.
Why it matters: Fans have criticized the consultancy agency for running various games. Some companies, like Square Enix and Powell Group, have even backed off from their deals with Sweet Baby Inc.
Talking to TheGamer, Grant Roberts, former narrative director at Sweet Baby commented on the company’s current position in the gaming industry. He said that their partner companies supported them privately even when they were criticized by Elon Musk.
And so, no matter what these people do, they’re not gonna stop us. They’re not going to stop the way that the world is now.
– Grant Roberts
He explained that the support was private because a public display is an open invitation to attack from the people. But Robert would like to see more companies defend them publicly so they have a clear stance in the industry.
Talking about the forced DEI, he said despite all the backlash, the company would still push its agenda. He argued that whether most people like it or not, this is an inclusive world now, and games could benefit a lot from it.
