Various New Models Incoming!

Iranian media outlet Sakhtafzarmag claims to have information on the launch date and specifications of the upcoming AMD Ryzen 8000G products. The site also points to the presence of some new Ryzen products based on the old AM4 platform.

There are two variants of the rumored Ryzen 8000G series. One uses the Phoenix 1 die, while the other uses the Phoenix 2 die. Furthermore, AMD is expected to launch Pro variants as well.

However, they share similar specifications with the non-Pro variants and are designed for workstation desktops.

With 16 threads and a boost frequency of up to 5.1GHz, the Ryzen 7 8700G is the flagship processor of the Phoenix 1, featuring 8 complete Zen 4 cores. The significantly less powerful Ryzen 5 8600G, on the other hand, has a boost frequency of 5GHz, featuring 6 cores/12 threads.

The G in the series indicates the default 45W/65W TDP, while the GE series is limited to only 35W TDP and is most likely designed for handheld devices.

As for the Phoenix 2 variants, these Ryzen 8000 APUs feature both Zen4 and Zen4C cores. There are two models in this lineup, including the Ryzen 3 8300G with 4 cores/8 threads and the Ryzen 5 8500G featuring 6 cores/12 threads.

In terms of performance, the new Ryzen 7 8700G featuring RDNA3 graphics is, on average, 30-40% faster than the last generation in the worst possible scenario. The gains over the last generation increase even further depending on the synthetic benchmark, with an increase of 250% in 3DMARK FireStrike alone.

Over on the gaming side, the Ryzen 8700G is 50% better in CS:GO compared to its predecessor. The launch window for the Ryzen 8000G is reported to land somewhere around 31 January 2024.

Initial processors include the Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 5 8600G, and Ryzen 5 8500G. The Ryzen 3 8300G will be released later on, probably as an OEM part. According to the source, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D will arrive around the same window.

Two new chips based on the AM4 platform, including the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500GT, will also arrive in Q1 2024. For now, there is no information on what kind of benefits the new GT series will offer over its predecessor. However, the site presents them as a replacement for the existing 5000G series.
