RTX 5070 Ti To Suffer From Supply Shortage Just Like RTX 5080 And 5090

Don't Expect To Find 5070 Ti Stock At Release

Story Highlight
  • A major retailer in Germany states the RTX 5070 Ti will be available in limited quantities, like the RTX 5080 and 5090.
  • PC gamers can expect inflated prices for these graphics cards and potential scalping.
  • Retailers expect to receive around 10 to 20 units at most.

Nvidia debuted its latest generation of graphics cards not too long ago, but prices have been sky-high due to supply shortages. As the gaming giant gears up to release even more GPUs into the market, it seems additional supply shortages are inevitable.

According to the latest reports, the RTX 5070 Ti is poised to suffer from similar issues later this week.

Why it matters: The RTX 5070 Ti seems to be one of the better Blackwell gaming graphics cards. However, those looking to buy the GPU will likely be unable to find stock in most stores on launch day.

The RTX 5070 Ti Will Be Very Difficult To Find At Release

As per Winterhertz, the RTX 5070 Ti’s situation will not be too different from that of the RTX 5080 and 5090, at least in Germany.

The user was provided this information via Alternate, a major electronics retailer in the country. Because the Blackwell generation’s current situation is so dire worldwide, it seems safe to assume that other countries will follow a similar pattern.

Other sources suggest retailers will receive no more than 10 or 20 units on launch day. The GPU was also listed on BestBuy earlier this week with prices as high as nearly $1,000.

Therefore, even if gamers can find stock in limited quantity, it will be sold at a huge premium over the advertised $750 MSRP.

5070 Slower Than 4070 Super Raw Performance
The RTX 4070 Ti Super Is Still A Solid Option For 1440p Gaming

As potential customers wait for updates on the supply situation, reviews of the RTX 5070 Ti are expected to go live later today. The slew of media coverage coming soon should give consumers a better look at how the graphics card stacks up compared to Nvidia’s performance claims.

If the other Blackwell GPUs have shown anything, the RTX 5070 Ti will offer a modest upgrade over its predecessor. As such, it may be best to avoid a purchase if the prices are too high due to limited supply.
