Yesterday NVIDIA also made an announcement that was overshadowed, and this is none other than launching a new subscription to its cloud service: GeForce NOW Ultimate.
Specifically, we are looking at the new top-of-the-range subscription of the service, which allows you to play compatible titles at a frame rate of up to 240 FPS.
To make this possible, you must know that you will be paying to access an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. This is a big step up from the GeForce RTX 3080, the most powerful graphics card you could rent on the service.
According to the green camp, these new GeForce NOW RTX 4080 SuperPODs will offer you no less than 64 TFLOPs of power. This means 5 times more performance than Xbox Series X and close to 75% more performance over the previous top-of-the-range GeForce NOW option.
GeForce NOW Ultimate thus replaces the GeForce NOW RTX 3080 subscription. Most interesting of all, the price remains the same. This implies having access to a GeForce RTX 4080 for $99.99 for 6 months ($16.67 per month). In the case of paying individual months, each month you enjoy the service will cost $19.99.
In addition to maintaining exclusive access to the fastest servers, the 8-hour gaming session, and enjoy a resolution of up to 4K at 120 FPS. Added to this is the possibility of going from a maximum framerate of 120 to 240 FPS.
At the time of writing, if you pay for this subscription, you will be getting access to a GeForce RTX 3080. This service will be automatically upgraded to the GeForce RTX 4080 once it becomes available, although no target date was offered.
GeForce NOW Ultimate members will be upgraded to RTX 4080-class GPUs when server upgrades in the nearest data center are ready. Existing GeForce NOW RTX 3080 members will automatically be converted to GeForce NOW Ultimate members.
What are your thoughts on this new GeForce NOW Ultimate service from Nvidia?
