Not even a day till its release, Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered has reached a peak of over 150k concurrent players, an impressive figure for a shadow drop. The title is already on the top-selling charts across all platforms.
Further embracing their publisher identity, Xbox now plans to release The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered for the Nintendo Switch 2. The console’s hardware has already shown that it’s more than capable of handling modern AAA releases.
Why it matters: Nintendo has solidified its position as a major player in the gaming industry, alongside Microsoft and Sony. With such a huge player base under its belt, Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered will see even more success after arriving on the Switch 2.
According to eXtas1stv, Bethesda is actively working on the Switch 2 port of Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered. The insider has been fairly accurate regarding his claims, such as the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, among others.
No further news regarding the port was mentioned, but it’s speculated that we’ll see an official announcement for the title sometime before the handheld releases.
Previous reports suggested that Nintendo plans to hold another showcase before it launches Switch 2 on June 5. The showcase will focus solely on third-party releases for the handheld, and Bethesda may make an appearance.
The Switch 2 has already demonstrated its capability to run AAA releases like Cyberpunk 2077. As such, Elder Scrolls Oblivion finding its way on the Switch 2 isn’t surprising at all.
