Xbox Targeting 4 Big First-Party Game Releases Each Year

All Games For 2024 Still Not Revealed!

Xbox has been lacking in frequent and high-quality first-party releases for several years. The gaming giant promised several ground-breaking titles at the beginning of the current console generation, but many of those promises are still unfulfilled.

However, Xbox is beginning to turn the tide in 2023. The gaming giant has already released critically acclaimed titles like Hi-Fi Rush, with Starfield and Forza Motorsport expected to bring a strong end to 2023 for Xbox.

According to a report, Xbox is looking to release four first-party games each year moving forward.

Why it matters: Rivals like PlayStation and Nintendo have consistently delivered exceptional first-party games, and Xbox aims to release a similar catalog in the coming years.

Xbox Games Showcase Starfield Direct

The gaming giant has already released two first-party games in 2023. While Redfall was poorly received, Hi-Fi Rush saw positive reviews from fans and critics. By the end of 2023, a total of four first-party games will have been released by Xbox.

Matt Booty from Xbox believes the gaming giant has turned the corner on game releases. He also potentially hinted at titles that have not been announced for 2024 or beyond.

Massive games like Hellblade 2 and Avowed are already confirmed for release in 2024. Games like Indiana Jones could also be released next year, but that remains to be seen.

This should mean that Xbox fans can look forward to a consistent line-up of first-party games from the company over the next few years.

Previously, Phil Spencer noted that Xbox let fans down when it comes to delivering an impressive first-party catalog. However, the gaming giant appears to have learned from these disappointments, leading to an exciting future for Xbox.
