- Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has recouped its budget of $40 million a day after it came out.
- The game has been performing well on Steam and other platforms, with a generally positive rating.
- Despite these accolades, the RPG also found itself in a lot of controversies relating to DEI.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has stood out as one of the most popular RPGs this year, surpassing its predecessors in almost every way. Whether it’s the overall visuals, gameplay mechanics, or enemy AI, everything feels like an upgrade.
So, it’s no surprise to learn that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has already covered its budget in only a day after release. The co-founder of Warhorse Studios confirmed the tidbit in an interview.
Why it matters: The game has already made enough sales that the full budget has been tackled. Now, the rest of the sales will potentially contribute towards the studio’s other projects.
While speaking with the Czech site Seznam Zpravy, Dan Vavra confirmed that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 sold so well right after its launch that the entire $40 million budget was covered in a day.
We are satisfied with the numbers, and if the trend continues at the same pace, it will be great.
-Dan Vavra
To put things into perspective, the game sold a million copies on the same day as its release and rose to the peaks of Steam’s top seller list.
Warhorse Studios has been confident in the game’s potential despite knowing that February is crowded with anticipated games.
