Kevin Conroy Returning As Batman One Last Time For Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad

Thank You, Kevin!

Rocksteady Studios needs no introduction to the gaming industry. The developer revolutionized the superhero genre with Batman: Arkham Asylum over a decade ago and is working on a brand new Suicide Squad game.

A new trailer at The Game Awards 2022 showed that Batman would be featured in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it also revealed that Kevin Conroy would reprise his role as Batman one last time

The new trailer is limited to cinematics and does not show any gameplay, but it reveals more about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s story. It shows a mind-controlled Batman breaking his ‘no killing’ rule as the Suicide Squad team stares in shock.

While the trailer might have initially seemed disappointing, fans were delighted to learn that Kevin Conroy would be the Batman for Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game. The voice actor has played Batman in the Arkham trilogy, so it makes sense that Rocksteady would want him back on their latest project.

Furthermore, Kevin Conroy’s Batman is not limited to games. He has been voicing the character for decades across different Batman animated shows, Justice League animated movies, and more. As such, many fans consider Kevin Conroy the definitive choice for any Batman adaptation

Unfortunately, Kevin Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022. It looks like Rocksteady dedicated the trailer to the legendary voice actor, and the trailer closed with Batman’s iconic line, “I am Vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman.”

Rocksteady also included a message saying “Thank You, Kevin” at the end of the trailer.

Kevin Conroy Suicide Squad Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to be released on May 26, 2023. The game is focused on four-player co-op gameplay allowing players to face off against a mind-controlled Justice League.

The title is still a few months away, but fans will be glad to know that Kevin Conroy will be part of the project, adding another special role to his incredible legacy as Batman.
