Hogwarts Legacy: Last-Gen Players Spent 17.2 Million Hours In The Game

Highly Successful On PS4 And Xbox One!

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most successful games of this year. It was reported that the game was the most successful release of Q1 2023 and accumulated more than $1 Billion in sales.

However, this is just a tiny part of the title’s success. Hogwarts Legacy was recently released on the last-gen consoles, and it has now been revealed that last-gen players have spent 17.2 million hours in the game.

Why it matters: With the large install base of PS4 and Xbox One, many had already expected the game to be a massive hit on the platforms, and it looks like the reception has exceeded expectations.

Part of this success can be attributed to the solid last-gen port. When the game was released on old-gen consoles, it performed well on PS4, running at a stable 900p/30 FPS for the most part.

As such, fans are likely pleased that Warner Bros and Avalanche Software did not forget the last-gen consoles, encouraging them to enjoy the Harry Potter RPG even with the limited hardware.

The developer also revealed several other statistics about the last-gen port. It was revealed that the players had defeated 45.4 million dark wizards and 69 million spiders. Moreover, they have used fast travel 36 million times.

The numbers will likely increase further when the game goes on sale, and more players eventually join Hogwarts Legacy on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

It is also worth noting that Avalanche Software might have already started working on Hogwarts Legacy Sequel. Given the game’s success, it is not too far-fetched to imagine Avalance Software is developing a sequel.

Which platform did you pick for the game? Were the PS4 and Xbox One versions good enough?
