GTA 6 Could Be PS5 Pro's Biggest Selling Point Yet!

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 is reportedly only hitting 60FPS on PS5 Pro.
  • According to a leaker, PlayStation engineers are helping optimise the game thanks to the company’s collaboration with Rockstar.
  • The game will also have multiple graphical settings on PS5 Pro.

As 2026 edges closer, the anticipation for GTA 6 is ramping up with every passing day. Recent estimates have predicted that the game will have the biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment, raking in almost $8 billion and 75 million copies.

Whether you believe these estimates or not, they could certainly be hurt by the game only running at 60FPS on one console. And, if leaks are true, this is exactly what’s going to happen.

Why This Matters: One of the most anticipated games in the history of the industry, only showcasing peak performance on one platform, will be an indictment of gaming’s current state.

GTA 6 PS5 Pro Leak
Info leaked by an insider, Detective Seeds.

As per insider Detective Seeds on X, GTA 6 is only hitting a consistent 60FPS on PS5 Pro and will have multiple graphical settings on the platform. The leak further states PlayStation engineers are helping Rockstar optimize the game for PS5 Pro because of the new tech in play.

Detective Seeds also reveals that the marketing deal between PlayStation and Rockstar is the reason this collaboration is taking place between the two parties. Hence, players should expect to see several PS5 and GTA 6 bundles when the game launches.

In addition, the insider provided some confirmation regarding the game’s release date, saying that the title is set to launch in May 2026. Per the leaker, this info is allegedly from a PlayStation engineer who added that the company is helping Rockstar optimise some other games for the platform.

GTA 6
GTA 6 is slated to launch in May 2026.

Hence, GTA 6 only runs at 60FPS on the PS5 Pro as of now, but this could very well change before release, according to the leaker. With a budget of over $1 billion, the sequel is certainly ambitious and hotly anticipated due to its massive scale.

Reports suggest that GTA 6 will have over 700 enterable buildings, 96-player servers, and is going to set new standards for open-world titles. With Rockstar about to ramp up the game’s marketing, we can only hope Take-Two is correct about there being no more delays.
