Also Targets 4K60 FPS With RT On Series X!

The Forza franchise is returning with a brand new sim-racing game after the success of Forza Horizon 5 on the Xbox Series S|X. Forza Motorsport is scheduled for release on October 28 and marks the eighth mainline installment in the Motorsport franchise.

Following a six-year gap after 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7, Xbox is bringing the series back with incredible visuals, impressive AI, and the most realistic on-track racing from the series to date.

With just over a month left before release, details like the game’s performance and resolution targets have already been revealed. According to the report, Forza Motorsport runs at a dynamic 4K resolution with 60FPS on Xbox Series X.

Why it matters: The game is among the most anticipated releases for Xbox Series S|X in 2023, as it offers a truly immersive racing experience with stunning graphics that bring the racing experience to life.

Like other games, Forza Motorsport offers multiple modes for 30 and 60FPS gameplay.

However, it offers four modes in total for the Xbox Series X, with several options due to the game’s ray tracing support. Racing fans looking for the best visual experience can play the game at 30FPS with ray-traced reflections and ambient occlusion.

On the other hand, the game also offers a 60FPS mode with these visuals. However, this mode disables the ray-traced mirrors for tracks. Additional compromises may be made to the dynamic resolution target for 60FPS.

The smoothest option comes with the game’s performance mode, which disables all ray tracing options for a 60FPS target but continues to aim for 4K resolution at the higher end of the dynamic resolution system.

The weaker Xbox Series S can only aim for a maximum of 1440p resolution in quality mode. However, this mode does not support ray tracing and leads to a 30FPS lock.

Users looking for a smooth experience on the Xbox Series S can choose the performance mode, dropping the resolution to 1080p for a 60FPS target.

Unsurprisingly, the Xbox Series X has an edge over the budget console in terms of graphical quality. However, a 60FPS mode ensures Xbox Series S users can enjoy a quality racing experience with Forza Motorsport.
