Cyberpunk 2077: GeForce RTX 4090 Gets 16 FPS With Ray Tracing Overdrive

DLSS To Rescue!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 can run almost all games at 4K and 60 FPS, with Ultra graphics and Ray Tracing, or at least that’s what we thought. Because even GeForce RTX 4090 struggles to maintain a decent 30FPS and only gets 16 FPS in Cyberpunk Ray Tracing: Overdrive mode, as revealed by Nvidia below video, which will use Path Tracing instead of the Ray Tracing that the game previously had.

Currently, if you are looking for the best performance on a PC, no graphics card competes head-to-head with Geforce RTX 4090. With all that computing power of 83 TFLOPs, we expect sensational gaming performance, and it offers excellent performance too, but there is an exception.

Nvidia released the comparison video of technologies in raster mode which shows the Ray Tracing mode and the upcoming over-drive mode, which brings complete Path Tracing. The comparison video demonstrates the graphics with and without Nvidia DLSS.

NVIDIA shows how it goes from 16 to 128 FPS with DLSS 3. We have the same in other scenes, where the RTX 4090 goes from 27 FPS to 117 FPS. In the last scene, already outside the city, it manages to go from 33 FPS to 138 FPS.

If you’ve been in PC gaming for a few years, you’ve probably played or at least read about Crysis 3. This game is legendary because it had impressive graphics using the CryEngine graphic engine and was released in 2007.

Part of its fame was due to the visual section, but the other came from the need for a powerful PC to play it as smoothly as possible. For years, gamers wondered if their PC could run Crysis, so they could be sure their hardware was up to the task. Well, Cyberpunk RT: Overdrive may become the new Crysis

NVIDIA once again manages to get away with using its wild card. DLSS 3 has been used in almost all of the company’s gaming performance tests. To improve the results and show how its GPUs perform well.

If you don’t want to play at really low FPS without DLSS, you can always leave Overdrive mode off, where in the video, you can see the differences and question whether it’s worth making such a sacrifice. So we remember that this free update for the game will arrive on April 11.
