Cyberpunk 2077 was topping the charts after the anime release, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners last month. In September, Cyberpunk 2077 broke the record of concurrent players every day for a week and reached the all-time Steam peak of concurrent players on 24th September 2022 to become the top-selling game on Steam the next day.
The game’s revival was evident after releasing the popular anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix. CDPR also revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
The developers acknowledged the support from the community and thanked them for believing in them. After all, we can’t give all the credit to the Netflix series for the revival of the game. The developers also remained consistent with the post-launched updates and fixed the bugs that were the reason for a disastrous launch.
Today, CD Projekt Red surprised the fans and announced a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The sequel is codenamed ‘Orion’. According to the tweet by CDPR, The sequel will further explore the Cyberpunk universe and harness the game’s full potential. The announcement was a part of CDPR’s long-term development plan that got revealed today as part of an investor’s call.

It is exciting news for Cyberpunk fans hoping to explore Night City further. There is no mention of any release window for the game,, but we will keep you updated once we learn any new information about the sequel.
