Battlefield 2042 was an extremely anticipated game before its launch. Fans of the first-person shooter genre were curious to play a new Battlefield game finally. However, the game failed to live up to expectations in almost every way possible.

The entire industry has heavily criticized the game since its launch. Many have even considered Battlefield 2042 an example of everything not to do when making a brand new title. Nonetheless, Dice promised that they would not abandon the game, and a few players were cautiously optimistic about the future of the game.

However, it seems like the future is grim for Battlefield 2042. During the most recent episode of Grubsnaxx on Twitch, Jeff Grubb has revealed some interesting information related to the title.

According to Jeff Grubb, Dice is doing the absolute minimum to deliver the promised seasonal content for the game. He said;

” This game is down to a skeleton-crew. Its down to a bare-bones team, and those people are specifically working on the promised additional seasons To Meet The requirements for the high end version that they sold.”

Jeff explained that the game was nearly abandoned. Only a small number of developers are currently working on getting updates out for the game. The rest of the team has already moved on to the next project, and the remaining crew will join them soon.

He further stated the developers are trying to rush out seasonal content for the game as fast as possible. As such, fans should not expect anything special from the upcoming maps, weapons, and specialists for Battlefield 2042. This isn’t very pleasant for fans of the game. Many ended up sticking with the game to support the developers, despite the rough state at launch.

Furthermore, Dice has also managed to redeem poor games in the past. Battlefield 4 was notorious for its terrible launch, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was also plagued with micro-transactions. Both games were fixed by the developers and are considered fan favorites at this point. However, it seems like Battlefield 2042 will not be getting the same treatment.

Battlefield 2042 has been in a sad state since its launch. Given Dice’s track record, many were hopeful that the developer would once again redeem themselves. It seems like they have already given up, and the community can only hope for a better Battlefield game in the future.
